Here we go!

Hi all! I guess I should start by introducing myself,I am a 25 year old stay at home mom to a beautiful 2 1/2 year old boy who has mild autism. Now when I say mild autism, I mean that he has trouble communicating in a way that everybody can understand. He still gets his point across by dragging me to the fridge by my index finger, or whines until I say what he wants, then laughs. I have a niece and a nephew 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 who I will probably make reference to alot, as they are a huge part of our lives, and lets face it, when you put that many toddlers together, you're bound to have ready made entertainment!
That being said, lets talk about potty training (Or lack thereof in our case) Why is it when you meantion potty training your mother, grandmother, mother in law, and everybody else's mother tells you that you/your sister/your spouse was potty trained by a year old? Is that really possible?
So, I went out a bought a great book, called "Potty Training for Dummies" Yes, it is a real book, and yes I bought it, for 20 friggin dollars. So lets just say, it had better have some amazing tips!
Wish me luck with the potty training!
